The Science

The heat generated by the IPL 532nm wavelength targets and destroys the tiny capillaries that cause the redness in the cheeks and perinasal area.

While the ND:Yag 1064 wavelength targets the diffuse redness that surrounds the capillaries through the absorption of hemoglobin.

Laser Genesis also inhibits production of sebum, which is linked with bacterial overgrowth and acne and seborrhoeic dermatitis.

The heat from ND:YAg wavelength can also kill demodex mites which have been linked to Rosacea.

The Treatment

Rosacea is a chronic condition characterised by facial redness and sometimes accompanied by spots and pimples, which can affect all ages.

There are 4 subtypes of Rosacea, with 3 affecting the skin, and 1 affecting the eyes.

Drug therapy or light based treatments will rarely ever cure the condition, though they can provide up to 2 years of remission.

A combination treatment of Limelight IPL and Laser Genesis (ND:Yag) is used to provide a broad spectrum of activity against the various causes of Rosacea.
